Hydro Hotel: Historic Charm and Modern Comforts

Established in 1910, the Hydro Hotel offers 56 comfortable guest rooms with a blend of classic charm and modern amenities. Whether visiting for business or leisure, guests can enjoy our warm hospitality and fantastic facilities throughout the year.

 We do accept group bookings, dependent on availability, and are happy to look at tailoring a package to suit your specific group need.


For bookings of 10 or more rooms please contact us directly via phone or email letting us know your requirements.


To book for TT or Grand Prix you will need to contact the hotel directly as online availability will be very limited during these peak times.   


Throughout the TT fortnight we require booking to be for a minimum of 8 nights.


During Manx Grand Prix you will need to book for a minimum of 7 nights.


If there is additional availability for short stay guests nearer the time of the events these will be made available. 


The hotel does not have ramp access and there are 9 steps from the promenade to the entrance of the hotel. 


The hotel lift stops at half landings meaning that there are an additional 5-8 steps either up or down to access the bedroom corridors. 


Currently we do not have any accessible rooms. 


Yes we are a pet friendly hotel. We accept pets without any additional charge just let us know at the time of booking


 You can change your booking, subject to availability, up until 24 hours before your arrival although we cannot always guarantee the same room rate and additional charges may apply.

If you have booked through a third party or online travel agent you will need to contact them directly to make amendments to your upcoming reservation.


You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours prior to arrival free of charge, however all deposits paid to the hotel are non-refundable.

You can find the hotel on Queens Promenade 15 minutes walk from Douglas town centre.

For anyone arriving to the Island by Ferry we are a 20 minute walk, short bus or car ride along the promenade.  If you are struggling to find us we are on the corner of Switzerland Road, just before the TT Shirts shop.


If you are travelling by air and do not have onward transport arranged you can catch any bus going to Douglas & Onchan (approx every 20 minutes) and this will take you all the way along the promenade to the hotel.


Whilst we do not have dedicated hotel parking there are spaces available on the promenade directly outside the hotel, which are free of charge. 


The Isle of Man operates a parking disk systems in Douglas Town Centre and  other areas of the Island and you can obtain one from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal.


Bedrooms are available from 2pm on your day of arrival, however, if you arrive earlier we will do our best to get you into your room as soon as possible. If your room is not ready when you arrive you can leave your luggage with us until it is available. 


If you require breakfast on your day of arrival this is available at a charge of £12.50 per person.


Bedrooms must be vacated by 11am on your day of departure. Luggage may be left at reception if required.  A late check out may be possible, subject to availability, at a cost of £30. This allows you to keep your room until no later than 6pm. This must be booked and paid for in advance.


Breakfast is served between 7:30am and 10am in the restaurant. 


Early continental breakfast is available before 7:30am. This must be pre-booked at reception no later than 8pm the evening before.


Yes. There is an excellent bus service which runs from outside the hotel into the town centre, and Lord Street Bus Station, approximately every 20 minutes. From Lord Street you can take busses to explore the whole Island.


There are also heritage railways/trams available in the summer season. The Horse Tram runs directly past the front of the hotel and the Electric Tram and Mountain Railways are only a short walk away. The Steam railway is slightly further away which is either a 25-30 minute walk or a short bus journey.


All timetables are available from Hotel Reception. 


At present we are not able to accept American Express.
